And: Healing by Heart

With 120 photos edited and watermarked and ready to post, somehow I had not posted these or written a report after the long-awaited Heart reunion show at the Hollywood Bowl in September 2019. But having seen the sisters again, six years on, I have thought back to this extraordinary show and am post-dating this post to have the photos here. I had a very-up-close seat at my sacred special favourite concert venue, and this is what I wrote, briefly, on Facebook when I got home:

My heart is so full at this late hour, so overflowing, that I need to share some of it with you. So here is some Heart.

There were a few moments at this show when I felt like I’d died and gone to heaven.
For those moments I will be forever grateful.
I live for moments like those.

It’s more than the music itself; it’s what specific musical moments mean. There are meanings to some of their songs that are very unique to my experience that nobody else would even know or understand, and it struck me so powerfully last night.

It was a glorious, technicolour, musically gorgeous night, after a turbulent time in Ann and Nancy’s personal and musical relationships. Beyond that, these photos speak for themselves.
